It’s been a YEAR

Omo! I didn’t realise it has been a year, Taqiah and I were just talking about this yesterday and I went back to check and our first post was made on Feb 10, 2009!

I’ll just write my part first and when she sees this later, please add on Taq!

Firstly, one year ago I think I was basically both bored with life and crazy about K-pop and out of impulse created Fanaholic. It was supposed to be a small-scale blog, mostly for friends to just come together to enjoy kpop, but we got greedy and started to post more and more. With more support, readers and commentors, we grew happier and happier and wanted to get a good number of blog visits every day. That’s when we got a little too caught up in numbers. I remember the times when I would just stay home and wait for new pictures and updates to post. It was fun, chaotic and made me really, really tired. I believe both Taqiah and I got worn out both by all the not so pleasant things in Kpop (’09 was a disaster for us) and also by our own personal lives and decided to slow it down. We changed the contents of the blog deciding to focus more on certain things and less on others. There are many times that I wanted to give up blogging because it is extremely time-consuming, but everytime I check the blog stats and see that people still visit us even when we hardly update and also to all the wonderful commentors who encourage us, I just can’t give up on fanaholic and so here we are, still going strong. I really appreciate all the love and supports that our wonderful readers give us. It’s the BEST ever:)

My journey with kpop has been a rollercoaster ride and I’m still enjoying it. I’m not sure how long this will last, but as long as it does, I hope to share it with everyone through this blog.

We are thinking of maybe adding more writers to the blog so that we can be even more updated, but it’s different as it requires alot of commitment and some of our writers have sadly left us throughout the year. We understand it’s hard and takes up alot of time but I do hope that there are people out there that consider joining us. I might be posting up an official sign up soon and I hope we get applicants! For now, those that are interested, feel free to email us as fanaholic8@gmail.com!

I’ll be adding more to this page throughout the week! Expects pictures and videos:):):)

The Hazards Of Fangirling Takes Its Toll

Mannnn~ never woulda guessed that fangirling could be such a heart ache and a head ache. What with the DBSK lawsuit saga and Jay’s untimely exit outta Kpop~ Going nuts. Gotta go study and do projects, and Hari Raya is coming up so gotta go do preps; and since Denise is also busy mugging I guess it’s best we stay in our realities for our own mental health @___@” hehe but anyways for y’all who still have the spirit to stand by Jay here’s some links :

I changed the layout of the site as the old one was getting kinda boring. Banner has been changed too in support of the boys’ Tokyo Dome concert:)

[Admin/Mod] Semi-hiatus 29 June to 1 July

Fanaholic will be going on a semi-hiatus starting tomorrow 29 June to 1 July. We will still update but just not as much, so do continue to support us! We’ll be back real soon^o^

Why are we taking a short break? Well, Taqiah will be going to Switzerland for a school program^^ and I have a friend whom I haven’t seen for awhile visiting me here in Sydney during these few days

Btw, we have a new author as well who will be helping us:) and some of u might have already read her posts, I’ll introduce her after we are back from our semi-hiatus^^

[PROJECT] STAND BY YOU; fansigns of encouragement

fansigns of encouragement

A new, very quick project thought up by the staff of O! forums. We all know that the boys are going to be performing at the Tokyo Dome which was their dream and now it’s coming true, so we want to show them that we are 100% behind them, hence the predictable name ‘Stand By You.’ This project is very simple and must be done very quickly… Why? Because we’re giving this along with the Yoochun birthday project to the boys at Bangkok and the concert is June 27/28 so it must be done soon!

What you need to do is make fansigns with words of encouragement like ‘DBSK fighting,’ ‘Congrats for Tokyo Dome,’ anything that’s encouraging as long as it can fit your signs and make sure it’s all in ENGLISH. Make sure when you take a picture, the message can be seen! Also make your fansigns stand out and that the picture you take is 900x600px, no more, no less or your fansign will not be accepted.

We’re creating a DVD so your pictures will be shown in a slideshow sort of way (together with a video that will be done by the staff), something simple but still meaningful and I’m 100% sure the boys will love it!

As for the delivery of the gifts, we have Plan A and Plan B. Both are guaranteed to work, but we’re still deciding on which plan to use / waiting for more confirmation. We’ll keep you guys posted (:

We have mentioned about hotlinking before in the welcome post but we’ll just give a small reminder because recently, some of our pictures have disappeared:(

It takes a lot of time to upload images so we’re pretty bummed out about it. We appreciate everyone reading our blog and liking the pictures we share, but please do not hotlink because no one wants to see a bandwidth exceeded notice instead of the boys. Let’s continue to spread dbsk love by making sure the pictures are accessible to everyone:)

Fanaholic review on Seolleim

The blog staff in Sydney decided to take a break from school today and so what do fangirls do? FANGIRLING. We went to hunt down Seolleim mainly because hey DBSK endorses it and my fav Yoochun is the lead!

So what does it taste like? I was actually pretty worried it would be horrible, but putting my trust in Yoochun, lol, I tried it and it’s actually not bad. I just can’t figure out the texture but I would say it is a bit like drinking vanilla ice-cream that is melting? It’s sweet and milky well duh! since it’s milkshake, lol.

Go try it if you find it in your local Korean mart! It’s winter here by the way, and the coldness of the drink went straight to my head *dizzy* Oh and Janice warns that it is not for the lactose intolerant people!
